This programme aims at providing a competitive pool of properly trained and qualified general purpose ratings to serve the maritime sector. It is one of the approved training courses for Local Vessel Trade Training Incentive Scheme (LVTTIS) under the Maritime and Aviation Training Fund launched by the Transport and Housing Bureau. On successful completion of this programme, trainees who are eligible to apply for the fund may get not more than $30,000 incentive and examination fee refund.
