(GOC) GMDSS General Operator Certificate

GMDSS General Operator Certificate Course has been designed to meet the requirements of the Seafarer’s Training, Certificate and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978 as amended (STCW as amended) section IV/2 for sea Area 1 to 4. Upon completion of the course, trainees should be enable to efficiently operate the GMDSS equipment, and to have primary responsibility for radio-communications during distress incidents. Training will also be provided in techniques to avoid the unintentional transmission of false distress alerts and the procedures to use in order to mitigate the effects of false distress alerts following unintentional transmission.
