The MSTI assisted United Christian College to hold a VR maritime workshop to increase students' interest in the maritime industry.
The MSTI assisted Lingnan Dr. Chung Wing Kwong Memorial Secondary School to hold a VR maritime workshop to increase students' interest in the maritime industry.
Visiting the dock of the Hong Kong Pilot Association Limitd on 16 July 2021, the CJGPR students deeply understand the business of the local dock. Thanks to the dock for showing the students how to operate the pilot boat on the platoon.
Visited NLSI Peace Evangelical Secondary School to promote the prospects of shipping industry and the training of maritime professionals, and the students responded enthusiastically to ask questions.
Speed Dating 2021 has been successfully held on 01 June 2021. It was grateful to have the participated companies presence sharing the current situation of marine industry. Wish our HDMS students & graduates to become shinning stars in maritime development.
Ms Sophia Hisiang-Ping Ma - Education Counselor Taipei Economic and Cultural Office visited the Maritime Training Institute on 22 March, 2021. MSTI graduates introduce the teaching facilities of the institutions to our distinguished guests.
6-11-2020 Thanks to Kerry Logistics and Columbia International Removals for their enthusiastic help to successfully complete the tour of the operation on the local oil tanker. The students responded enthusiastically. The company director attaches great importance to this visit and specially arranged boat berths. He encouraged our students and welcomes graduates to join the company after graduation. The shipping industry has always been short of manpower and serious faults. Students should seize the opportunity to be promoted to captain.
On November 5, 2020, I visited the Hong Kong Sea School to provide a career talk to introduce the development and training of the shipping industry to S6 students. The response of the students was generally enthusiastic. Many students also aspired to join local vessel and ocean-going ships.
Senior manager Mr. Victor Lai, Senior manager Leo Chau and HR Senior Office Destiny Cheung from Kerry Logistics, Senior Manager Mr. Calvin Yam and Senior Safety Officer Lawrence Li From Columbia Internal Removals came to MSTI introducing their company organization business and structure, career path at Kerry Logistic & Columbia and the working environment on Lubicating Oil Tanker on 15 July 2020. Their fleet has been carried mainly in lubricating oil and is now continuously expanding the fleet.
MSTI successfully launched “Speed Dating 2020” on 24 June. We were pleased to invite representatives from 11 ship companies to give a fruitful sharing on up-to-date maritime industry development and the career prospects to our HDMS students & graduates.
Chief Engineer Mr.Y.L. Yeung and HR & Admin. Manager Ms Yolanda Pang from THE "STAR" FERRY COMPANY, LIMITED came to MSTI introducing their company organization structure, career path and the working environment on passenger ferry on 3 July 2020. Their ferry is one of the icon of Hong Kong.
On January 16, 2020, MSTI participated in the Careers Expo 2020 organized by Caritas Chai Wan Marden Foundation Secondary School. The students' response was quite enthusiastic, and many students also aspired to join marine industry.

The MSTI Open Day 2018 has been smoothly concluded on 23rd to 24th November 2018. There were a range of training facilities including Desk-top Simulator, Rope Making Machine, Medical Care & First Aid Equipment and Rescue Boats for display. Moreover, the demonstration of Firefighting and Survival Techniques had been arranged for the public aiming to let them learn more about maritime training and its development, and increased their awareness of the shipping industry.

International Maritime Organization Secretary-General Mr Kitack LIM visited our campus on 5th September 2017. VTC Executive Director Ms Carrie YAU, MSTI Director Ir MAK Chiu Ki and students met with Mr Lim and exchanged views and experience of nurturing skilled manpower for the industry.
The teachers and students, represented Dalian Maritime University's training ship Yukun, visited MSTI on 3rd July, 2017 and exchanged the experience on maritime training with us.
The 4th China Seafarer Skills Competition was held in Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province from 24th to 29th June, 2017. Our students attended the competition in order to learn the skills from the mainland seafarers.
MSTI staffs celebrated Tin Hau’s Birthday in the Tin Hau temple on 19th April 2017 to pray for safety, security, fine weather and full fishing nets during the coming year.

(The Swire Group), Anglo-Eastern Ship Management Ltd., Valles Steamship Co Ltd. and Maritime Professional Promotion Federation on 11th April 2017.

The four-day Education & Careers Expo was held at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 23rd to 26th February 2017. It is a great pleasure that MSTI students were invited to serve as helpers and shared with the visitors their valuable experience by the Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board (HKPMB). Providing one-stop maritime-related information for young people and their parents on study, training and professional development, it would promote the maritime industry more widely.
